Improving learning and accountability
Management of projects and programmes is complex. A close study of planning and implementation improves efficiency and effectiveness. Monitoring and evaluating the processes provide a systematic means to improve your development projects, programmes and increase organizational performance. This course provides quantitative indicator-based system for Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) as well as more qualitative tools (Outcome Mapping and Most Significant Change). The course is proactive and participatory.
Course objectives
In this course you will learn how to monitor projects, programmes and organizations and to link this information to evaluation.
At the end of the course you will:
- Be able to ask and answer typical M&E questions, such as: Which data do we need to understand the context, outputs, outcome and impact? Who collects, analyses and processes these data, when and how?
- Have learned to use monitoring results, linked to evaluation and decision making
- Have experienced how monitoring and evaluation can be turned into (participative) learning.
